Dear Fourth Grade Teacher,
You and your class are cordially invited to attend the 21st annual Farm Fair, sponsored by the Daviess County SWCD and Purdue Extension.
The Farm Fair will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 at the 4-H grounds, located at Eastside Park in Washington, from 9:00 am to 2:15 pm. Please arrive about 8:45 am so you will have time to get to your starting point. As in the past, each class will begin at a different station and a whistle will signal the students when to move on to the next station. Each class will spend 10 –11 minutes at each station, with 1 minute or so for traveling between stations. An air horn will signal the beginning of the morning sessions (9:00 am) and afternoon sessions (12:25 pm). Some stations will be outside in the 4-H barns, so dress accordingly! Water will be available throughout the day. When you arrive, please report to the main 4-H building to receive your schedule and group number. Below is a general schedule for the day:
8:45 a.m. Classes arrive and go to starting points
9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Classes visit stations
11:05 – 11:40 a.m. Lunch for Group 1
11:45 am – 12:20 p.m. Lunch for Group 2
12:25 – 2:10 p.m. Classes visit stations
We are asking students, teachers, and helpers to bring a sack lunch. In order to prevent confusion and lost lunches, please place the lunches for your class in a cooler or a box with a lid, clearly labeled with school name and teacher name. Students should put their names on their lunches. Please drop the lunches off at the Community Building. (You may want to check with your school about having boxed lunches made.) There will be no refrigeration available. Prairie Farms will be providing milk for lunch. While Group 1 is eating lunch, Group 2 will hear a presentation by our noon speaker; then Group 2 will have lunch, while Group 1 hears the presentation. This year’s noon presentation is a demonstration on dog obedience by Andrea Bauer of A-1 K-9. The demonstration will take place in the 4-H arena.
